COMMUNITY AND WORLD
International Horse School Instructor Aachen, Germany. Taught youth members of the German Quarter Horse Association (DQHA) the various aspects of Western Riding. Presented educational workshops and seminars. July 24 August 2, 2000.
Clinician California 4-H Horse O Rama San Diego, CA. Spoke to 4-H youth about the rules by which horse show classes are judged. Demonstrated the importance of understanding horse judging whether showing, watching, training or coaching. February 26, 2000.
TEACHING
Sole Instructor Equine Evaluation. San Diego University. As the sole instructor, prepared notes and lectures for a twice a week two hour class which meets both in the Spring and Fall on how to evaluate horses. Guided students in their objective evaluation of the equine species and taught students the vital components of the equine industry. Spring 1998- Present.
Stable Management San Diego University. Trained students in the proper breeding management of both the mare and stallion. Responsibilities included: palpation and ultrasound a herd of brood mares for reproductive status and pregnancy; care of mares and foals; collection and evaluation of stallion semen for artificial insemination; instructed students on the proper methods of artificial insemination in the horse; instructed students in the collection of stallions; taught students the use of hormones for management of the mare. RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
Public Relations; Advertising Assistant; Media Representative Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Fort Worth, Texas. Handled exhibitor concerns and conducted various public relations duties. 1995.
Assistant Manager Arabian Horse Show Barn. San Diego, California. Managed and supervised staff of four persons. Responsible for care and training of show horses. Conducted three tours daily of the facilities consisting of horseback demonstrations and presentations. 1992-1994.
Contract Trainer Self employed. Trained, managed, showed and sold Paint and Quarter Horses. 1989- Present.
Riding Instructor / Coach Seattle, Washington. Instructed intermediate to advanced Western and English riders in horsemanship and equitation events. Coached the 1992 World Champion Showmanship and Hunt Seat Equitation Riders and the 3rd Overall Western Horsemanship Champion. Summer 1990-1994.
